This class will teach you the fundamentals of traditional West African infused with Afro style dance. Each class will include teachings of the culture through movement accompanied with Djembe drums and Afrocentric sounds. All Boys Hip Hop

This is an all level, all boy class! Based on a combination of urban street dancing and house dancing, Hip Hop is one of today’s fastest-growing dance forms. Students will learn the basic steps, terminology and various styles of Hip Hop and levels of breaking dancing, in addition to several combinations, and dances. No previous dance experience is necessary, you just need RHYTHM! (For older students 8-10yo)

Beginner Dance

This class is designed to give young dancers an opportunity to learn the foundation of Ballet and Tap. Dancer confidence, physical activity, and increased memory are just a few of the phenomenal benefits of dance class. Ballet is an introduction to the classical and modern dance styles for boys and girls. With ballet positions, terminology, basic steps, barre work, and floorwork, this class furthers your child's understanding of dance fundamentals, expression through movement, and graceful poise. The tap portion of class your child will shuffle, hop, and step-ball-change to many different musical styles and discover all the joys of tapping!

Beginner Hip Hop

Based on a combination of urban street dancing and house dancing, Hip Hop is one of today’s fastest-growing dance forms. Students will learn the basic steps, terminology and various styles of Hip Hop and levels of breaking dancing, in addition to several combinations, and dances. No previous dance experience is necessary, you just need RHYTHM! Clothing: Comfortable clothing, NO SKIRTS OR JEANS Shoes: Shoes that are not worn as street shoes to protect our dance floor

The Beginner class is designed for dancers who are ready for the next level of training. During class dancers will focus on confidence, strength and technique. Dancers will learn higher positions, terminology, barre, floor and across the floor work. Dancers in this level will be required to take Ballet, Tap and Jazz

Level 2 Ballet, Tap, Jazz-Placement at the discretion of Directors

Traditional classical dance styles taught in fun, professional environment, students also learn the terminology and vocabulary in each genre. In Ballet, dancers learn exercises, steps, & combinations. A ballet class consists of several segments, usually: barre, center, adagio, allegro, & reverence, with French terminology. Jazz – Jazz dance includes strength, flexibility, conditioning technique, turns, kicks & leaps. Tap – Tap dancers use the metal taps on the toes and heels of their shoes to produce an endless variety of sounds and rhythms that differ in dynamics and even pitch. In tap dance class, you’ll be training your musical ear as well as your body.

Jazz is an intensive class based on technique and style. Many styles are explored through warm-ups, isolations, stretching, footwork, progressions, turns, leaps, and combinations. This class also provides routines and exercises that build on strength, flexibility and stamina. Students learn a wide range of steps in order to learn new skills. Challenging them with more complex moves over time will allow them to master different techniques and gain a sense of achievement. All styles of Jazz are explored through warm-ups, isolations, stretching, footwork, progressions, turns, leaps, and combinations.

Level 3 Tap-Placement at the discretion of Directors

A clearly defined, graduated method for all ages and levels, emphasizing the development of a sense of rhythm and musicality. Speed and rhythm exercises are explored through various combinations and learning the method of eccentric rhythm counting. Advanced Tappers will also learn various styles of tap from hoofing to musical theater, opening up their knowledge base, becoming well-rounded tappers.

Level 4 Jazz - Placement at the discretion of Directors

Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, and also in various methods of improvisation. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional modern dance movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolation's, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Level 5 Ballet (5 years experience) - Placement at the discretion of Director

Musical Theater

This class is offered to expose students to musical theater as a whole. Within the course of this hour long class, students will learn acting elements for the stage such as projection, concentration, and improvisation, as well as vocal and diction skill exercises.

Pointe I- Invitation only

Students must have teacher’s approval to enroll in the pre-pointe class. Students taking pre-pointe must also take 1 ballet technique class during the week in addition to pre-pointe to ensure that they are building strength and endurance to be ready for pointe.

Pre Dance I Ballet/Tap

This class is offered as a pre dance class which is a step up from little movers class. Dancers will learn the beginning steps of Ballet and Tap; along with Rhythm and Movement. Great class for young beginner dancers that are showing signs of dedication for dance.

Pre Dance II Ballet/Tap

Speed and rhythm exercises are explored through various combinations and learning the method of eccentric rhythm counting. Advanced Tappers will also learn various styles of tap from hoofing to musical theater, opening up their knowledge base, becoming well-rounded tappers. Clothing: Leotard, tights, dance shorts, jazz pants or leggings. Shoes: Black tap shoes (style depends on level of class) No Patent Leather Taps Please.

Tiny Tumblers - Saturday Class

Vocal Music

Vocal instruction is a technique class we use to help improve vocal range, endurance, stamina, resonance, proper posture and breathing control (singing from the diaphragm), vocal strength and the use of dynamics, and vocal quality. Learning how to sing properly allows the singer to perform well without fatigue or damage to the voice.
